Job Description

The Senior Energy Project Manager/Technical is anticipated to serve as a resource and mentor regarding energy efficiency analysis of the built environment. This position reports to the Nova Energy Group Manager. Specific job responsibilities are as follows:

  • Authoring and reviewing ASHRAE Level I, II, III energy audit reports

  • Mentor and train field assessors on energy auditing best practices

  • Contribute to strategic growth of the energy efficiency division by improving business processes, collateral, and deliverables as directed

  • Client management and sales support as directed

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills
  • 5 or more years of experience developing ASHRAE Level I, II, and III energy audits of commercial and multifamily properties

  • Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail

  • Understanding of building mechanical systems and controls

  • Understanding of building envelope systems

  • Understanding of building maintenance and operational best practices

  • Clear, timely communication with internal and external resources and stakeholders

  • Strong client management skills

  • Expert level proficiency in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred Background
  • 5+ years’ experience conducting energy efficiency analysis

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architecture preferred

  • Experience with an industry standard energy modeling software such as Trane Trace, DOE2, eQuest, PSD Treat, EnergyPro or similar

  • Current, valid state driver’s license (position requires an acceptable motor vehicle record history)

  • Field work will require up to 50% travel primarily in employee’s region, as well as occasional trips throughout the U.S. to support national needs

  • Physical Demands: Ability to physically navigate site properties in various weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs., climb a ladder and gain access to roofs

  • Ideal candidate would possess such accreditation as BPI-Multifamily Analyst; Certified Energy Manager (CEM); Certified Energy Auditor (CEA); knowledge of and experience in working with ASHRAE Procedures for Commercial Building Energy Audits and Retro-commissioning; minimum two (2) years’ experience in analyzing HVAC equipment operations and specifying equipment upgrades to improve system energy performance
